Service of

Pre-docking Inspection Services

Nordan Marine’s Pre-Docking Inspection Service offers a clear and comprehensive assessment of your vessel’s cargo handling system prior to dry docking. By identifying and evaluating critical maintenance and repair needs in advance, we help reduce downtime, control costs, ensure the availability of correct spare parts, and streamline the entire docking process.

We offer both Onboard and Remote Pre-Docking Inspections to support efficient and cost-effective dry-docking preparation. Whether your vessel is on a tight schedule or berthed at a location where onboard attendance is not feasible, Nordan Marine provides flexible solutions to meet your operational needs and ensure a smooth and successful dry dock.

Onboard Pre-Docking Inspection

The Onboard Pre-Docking Inspection is performed while your LPG or LEG vessel is in operation, typically during cargo discharge at port. The inspection is usually conducted up to three months before the vessel’s scheduled dry dock. This real-time assessment enables our specialist to evaluate the performance of the cargo handling system under actual working conditions, providing a precise and timely foundation for effective dry-docking planning.

The inspection consists of:

  • Cargo Deepwell Pumps & Booster Pumps: Performance evaluation during discharge.
  • Safety Relief Valves: Visual inspection and condition assessment.
  • Cargo Monitoring System: Verification that pressure, temperature, gas detection, and level readings in the cargo control room correspond accurately to the actual values at the equipment locations onboard.
  • Cargo Compressors: Performance check during operation, if units are running during discharge.

Conducting the inspection while the vessel is active offers valuable insight into system behavior under load. This allows early identification of potential issues, effective maintenance planning, and ensures the availability of necessary spare parts ahead of dry dock—saving both time and cost.

Following the inspection, we deliver a comprehensive inspection report detailing the condition of key components, along with clear and prioritized recommendations for service and repair work to be carried out during the upcoming dry-docking.

Remote Pre-Docking Inspection

For vessels with limited port stay or restricted access, our Remote Pre-Docking Inspection offers a practical alternative. Through collaboration with the vessel’s crew, we collect relevant pump data and photos to assess the condition of the equipment.
This remote service allows us to deliver timely recommendations and prepare a tailored docking plan, even when physical attendance is not possible.
